UAE "中 백신 86% 효능"... 중국은 발표 대신 200만명 접종 '강행'<br /><br />As the global race accelerates to develop vaccinations against COVID-19, it's been revealed that the one developed by a China's Sinopharm is just over 85 percent effective.<br />Kim Hyo-sun has the details.<br />The UAE is the first country to announce that the COVID-19 vaccine developed by China's Sinopharm has an efficacy rate of 86 percent.<br />Its health authorities explained that this was based on the interim analysis of a Phase three clinical trial carried out on some 30-thousand people in the UAE,... which is recording over 1-thousand new cases a day.<br />Chinese authorities have not made any official statements on the vaccine's efficacy.<br />Even after receiving final stage clinical trial data on some 50-thousand people,... the Chinese authorities did not comment on the progress.<br />The New York Times is raising questions,... saying the UAE's announcement also lacks evidence.<br />It also stated that there was no detailed information on the trial participants, including their age.<br />China has started inoculating some 2 million people in Sichuan Province,... with watchers forecasting that the general public in China may also receive the shots early next year.<br />There are mounting questions over China's vaccination program, as its government has remained tightlipped on the country's vaccination program.<br />Kim Hyo-sun, Arirang News.<br />
